On March 17, I planted a bunch of heirloom
tomato seeds, saved from produce purchased near Port Burwell a couple of
years ago. Somehow, I ended up with 135 seedlings! The neighbours have
been very accommodating; a large number of plants have been farmed out,
leaving us with 64 in pots of varying size.
The first blossoms appeared on an orange banana, and a green zebra was the next to flower.
Looking forward to the harvest!

It’s that time of year again – the Seville oranges are in the stores.

Mum's Marmalade - Crockpot Method
2
lb Seville
oranges
2
lemons
2
pints (40 fl oz) boiling water
4
lb sugar
Cut washed oranges and lemons in half. Remove and
retain pips, but discard any that have been cut, because they would make your
marmalade taste bitter....
